Blog Post: The Order I Almost Didn’t See Coming

While I didn’t complete my Christmas bake-a-thon like I planned, something else happened, something I never saw coming.
In the middle of a season that felt uncertain and overwhelming, I received the biggest order Lady B’s Treats has ever fulfilled. It came out of nowhere, or so I thought. But when I traced it back, it wasn’t from a flashy post, a paid ad, or a business card. It came from an unexpected source.
I was posting content and promoting my Christmas specials when an acquaintance reached out and asked for a sample bag. At the time, I thought nothing of it. I filled the order and kept going. Then I remembered this wasn’t just anyone. This person had actually purchased from me during my first year in business. They had enjoyed the product back then and had been quietly watching my journey ever since.
When she saw the Christmas flyer, she didn’t just scroll past it; she recommended me to someone else. That small gesture turned into something so much bigger. Around that same time, I had been praying, asking God to send the orders. I told Him,
“I’m just the baker. You’re the boss.”
And just like that, He answered. Through someone I didn’t even realize was still in my corner. That one quiet recommendation became an answered prayer. It opened the door to a new relationship, a major opportunity, and several new customers who now know what Lady B’s Treats is all about.
I was in shock. Grateful. Humbled. And reminded of something simple but powerful:
Consistency in the small things creates space for the big ones.
Even when the posts feel repetitive, when engagement is low, when self-doubt creeps in, or when you wonder if anyone is even watching, someone is. Always.
This wasn’t just about filling an order. It was about realizing that the work I do, even when it feels unseen, is still seen. Every cookie. Every caption. Every moment of effort. It’s building something. Slowly. Quietly. And then, all at once.
And since we’re talking about consistency—let me share a little baking truth I’ve learned along the way:
Baking Tip: Use butter in the form that works best for your goal—and stay consistent.
1. Melted butter creates a softer, chewier cookie with a more spread-out texture.
2. Softened butter gives you a balanced cookie—slightly puffy, slightly crisp on the edge, and great for holding shape.
3. Cold butter keeps your dough firm and your cookies thick with less spread.

I'll share my preference with you guys: cooled browned butter.
Whether in life or in baking, the results you get depend on how you show up—and how consistent you stay.
So if you’re in a season where it feels like no one’s noticing—keep going. Be faithful in the little things. Show up. Someone’s watching. And your breakthrough might be closer than it looks.
With Love,
Lady B.
