Hello and welcome! I'm thrilled to have you here in my little corner of the internet, where we'll explore the delightful worlds of baking, entrepreneurship, and so much more.


Let me introduce myself: I'm Brandi Maynard—a child of God, self-taught baker, and proud owner of Lady B's Treats, a home-based bakery. I'm also an educator in training, a virtual administrator, an event coordinator, a writer, and a youth mentor. I feel immensely blessed to operate in many different roles, especially in the kitchen.


"How on earth did we get here?"


That’s the question I keep asking as I write this blog. My love for baking has deep roots. As a young girl, I spent my summer breaks with my Aunty Lynn and cousin Vonetta, both talented bakers. Watching them create cakes, cookies, and brownies ignited my curiosity and passion for baking.


One pivotal moment stands out: I was home, craving a chocolate chip cookie. I rummaged through our snack cupboard and found a Chips Ahoy cookie. As I took a bite, disappointment washed over me; instead of the comforting chocolate chip goodness I longed for, I was met with an overpowering taste of preservatives. My dreams were crushed!


But then I recalled my Aunt’s words: “It’s easier than it looks.” That sparked a determination in me to make my cookies from scratch. At the time, I was living in Freeport, Grand Bahama, with my mother and two siblings. I took advantage of our Saturday shopping trips to gather ingredients. Once home, I eagerly began the process that turned into four years of perfecting my Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe, which now surpasses all expectations.

Baking transformed from a small spark into one of my greatest passions, a creative outlet that defined my teenage years. I even set a goal to own my bakery one day. However, as life went on, I ventured into other pursuits and took a break from baking.


Then came January 2023. After a three-year hiatus, I found myself baking again to cope with the loss of my grandfather. At a Valentine's Sip & Paint event, I volunteered to bake my Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies, and they were a hit! My adopted Aunt Laverne asked me, “How much for a dozen?” I hesitated but was challenged to figure it out and have an answer by next week.


I took a photo and posted it on my status. That led to receiving an inquiry for purchase. Having already been admonished to get my pricing together I told them I would get back to them. After that event, I realized that 16-year-old Brandi’s dream of owning a bakery was still alive in me. I prayed for guidance and felt called to pursue this passion.

On February 22, 2023, Lady B’s Treats served its first customer. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my Heavenly Father, who planted this dream in my heart long ago. Reflecting on my journey fills me with thankfulness, even amidst the challenges and hard decisions I’ve faced.


This blog will be a safe space for sharing blessings, lessons, humor, and, of course, delicious recipes. It marks the beginning of a new season of growth and maturity. I’ve learned invaluable lessons along the way—humility, persistence, determination, and flexibility have been my companions throughout this process.


To my family, friends, and cherished customers, thank you for your unwavering support. I’m grateful for each of you. Today, I want to encourage all the dreamers out there: take that next step! Pray and ask God to guide you on your journey. Let Him help you turn your dreams into reality.
